About the Item
A stunning English Art Nouveau large art pottery bowl decorated in flambe glazes by renowned artist Bernard Moore (British, 1850-1935) and dating from around 1910. The lightly potted ceramic bowl stands raised on a narrow round deep foot rim and is of wide round shape with a flared top rim. The body of the bowl is hand decorated in ox blood red glazes over a yellow ground with the brush work very clearly visible, particularly to the inner bowl. Elements of the underlying yellow ground show through around the lower body of the bowl. The bowl is marked in feint red tones BERNARD MOORE to the base.
Provenance: Acquired from the UK Art Market
A stunning example with light wear associated with age and use with a few tiny scratch marks within the base of the bowl.
