About the Item
Elegant fish brass bowl by Richard Rohac, with hammered pattern, handmade in Austria,
The bowl is signed on the underside with his trademark [back to back R in a square].
Rohac began and completed his apprenticeship with Werkstätte Hagenauer Wien in Vienna as a teenager, and stayed with the workshop another nine years. His works are influenced by Carl Auböck und Karl Hagenauer, before opening his own metalwork business in 1932. Rohac figurines ecxite with excellent black patina and realistic appearence. The workshop closed in 1956, the year Karl Hagenauer, Josef Hoffmann and also Richard Rohac died.
