Caviar Server with Glass Caviar Eggs by Erin Hupp and Jason Stropko

About the Item

Born out of a collaboration between ceramicist Erin Hupp and glassblower Jason Stropko. This ink texture ceramic caviar server with translucent oversized salmon roe eggs and golden osetra caviar eggs serves as both a functional vessel and intentional art. The glass caviar or roe are playful renditions of caviar, and when combined with Erin’s Ink Texture Caviar Server together create a focal centerpiece for the home. As always, Erin’s caviar server can be used in many ways for a beautiful caviar service. Caviar is a rare indulgence, enjoyed only a few times a year, so between uses and celebrations Erin's server combined with Jason's glass eggs may be displayed as exquisite art for the home. This artist collaboration is rooted in a common ground of culinary art. Both Erin and Jason create custom art for restaurants and both artists have over two decades of experience in their respective crafts. During a hot shop studio visit, Erin and Jason collectively had the idea to create glass caviar that would nestle in Erin’s Ink Texture Caviar Server. Ceramic artist Erin Hupp designs and creates bespoke, hand-crafted ceramics on her pottery wheel. From Michelin tableware to mirrors, her work achieves balance between function and form and has been described as organic and sensory. Erin has been creating her art, by hand, on her potter’s wheel for the past 25 years. Her art can currently be experienced at Californios, Nightbird, Sons and Daughters, Pasta Bar, Acquerello, Sorrel, and Stanly Ranch Auberge Resort. She has been featured in Business of Home, Luxe, Forbes and Design Milk. Jason Stropko is a San Francisco glassblower who creates one-of-a-kind, custom-made glass work for product designers, interior designers, architects, restaurants, and fine dining. He is best known for larger-than-life interpretations of nuts, seeds, fruit, and vegetables -- all fashioned out of glass. Jason's creations are playful renditions, reminiscent of a dreamlike world which captures natural artifacts and preserves them for longevity, touching on the timeless tradition of still life to immortalize nature in its prime. Jason’s two-part glass almond serving dish created in collaboration with Atelier Crenn was featured in So Good Magazine, one of the world’s premier publications dedicated to gourmet desserts.
