Chinese ‘Yongzheng-Style’ Famille Rose Fencai Porcelain Punch Bowl Circa 1950s

About the Item

A large ‘Yongzheng-style’ Famille Rose (Fencai) Chinese porcelain punch bowl, handcrafted around the 1950s in China. Decorated with a vibrant central springtime scene of four birds nestled amongst peony flowers and lush green foliage. Meticulously hand-painted and expressed against a luminous white porcelain backdrop. This delicate springtime scene is juxtaposed by the bright, decorative border that adorns both the interior and exterior of the bowl. Fluttering butterflies, intertwined with symbolic peonies, apricots, and tied scrolls. Hand painted and coloured in bright pink, turquoise blue, and yellow enamels, set against a striking deep blue background. Measuring 30.5 cm in diameter and 14 cm in height, the bowl is in good condition, free from chips or cracks. However, there is some minor wear to the enamel in the central scene, which reflects its age. Please see pictures for closer inspection.
