About the Item

Elegant Swedish Grace Pewter Bowl by Edvin Ollers, 1937 Designed by renowned Swedish designer Edvin Ollers (1888–1959), this elegant pewter bowl captures the refined simplicity and harmonious proportions of the Swedish Grace movement. Crafted in 1937 by Schreuder & Olsson in Stockholm (hallmarked L8), the piece showcases Ollers’ signature blend of classical inspiration and modern clarity. The bowl rests on a flared pedestal base and is adorned with two sculptural, scroll-shaped handles that bring a touch of Art Deco sophistication. The soft sheen of the cast pewter surface is complemented by a subtle patina, enhancing its timeless appeal. Swedish Grace, Sweden’s distinctive interpretation of the Art Deco style, emerged in the 1920s and 1930s, blending neoclassical elegance with modernist restraint. This bowl is a fine example of the movement’s emphasis on craftsmanship, proportion, and understated luxury. A rare and collectible piece of Swedish decorative arts from the interwar period, perfect for display or as a functional centrepiece. Wear consistent with age and use.
