A gorgeous vintage majolica glazed green reticulated basketweave bowl from Vallauris in the French Riviera region of France, circa 1940. Maker's mark on interior. Vallauris is considered the capital of French pottery and is often referred to as the “city of 100 potters”. This exquisite bowl is a truly stunning example of their unrivaled skill and masterful craftsmanship. It features a lovely openwork design resembling the woven stems of a flower with delicate roses and floral details in a vibrant shade of emerald green. It displays beautifully and would be perfect as a table centerpiece.
