Huge magnificent bowl vase, Lötz Loetz Glass Jugendstil Art Nouveau 1900 Bohemia

About the Item

This huge magnificent glass object is a true masterpiece. The sheer size and high quality of the object make it a museum piece. It is a shimmering glass with glass threads, typical for Loetz (or Kralik), which was made around 1900. The masterfully crafted glass bowl changes color from green to blue to violet depending on the viewing angle and incidence of light. The perfect undamaged glass bowl is embedded in a metal mount, with handles and encompassing rings decorated with a flower on each side - this makes it a free standing piece. Measurements approx.: height 10,24 in - 26 cm, width 15,55 in - 39,5 cm, depth 10,63 in - 27 cm A wonderful example of early Art Nouveau - Jugendstil, made in central Europe, Loetz was the most important art glass factory in Klostermühle, Bohemia, Austria-Hungary. Loetz's works are among the most outstanding examples of Art Nouveau. A truly rare object with an eye-catching effect, a masterpiece of art.
