Japanese Antique Matcha Bowl 'Tokugawa' 1960s with Wooden Box

About the Item

This matcha bowl was made in Japan around 1960s in Showa era. This bowl will come with a wooden box. This bowl is made with porcelain and it has family crest of Tokugawa. This bowl is used to use for drinking matcha during a tea ceremony. Dimensions: Box: 15 x 15 x H11,50 cm Bowl: 12,5 x 12,5 x H8 cm Family crest (Kamon) of Tokugawa: The Tokugawa clan is a Japanese dynasty which produced the Tokugawa shoguns who ruled Japan from 1603 to 1867 during the Edo period. It was formerly a powerful daimyō family. They nominally descended from Emperor Seiwa (850–880) and were a branch of the Minamoto clan (Seiwa Genji) through the Matsudaira clan.
