About the Item

The Wandel bowl is a softly sloping, endearingly wobbly vessel. Extruded slowly from buttery recycled plastic, the bowl’s meandering lines melt together to form a shallow basin. Colour ebbs and evolves though the wide printed line. Suitable for use as a generous fruit bowl or playful tabletop sculpture, the Wandel explores the light-hearted, less rigidly functional possibilities of the Kooij workshop. Like hands cupped to hold water, the Wandel bowl is open and undulating. A single extruded line is gently warmed to give the bowl its shape. The patterning of the Wandel is a characteristic of the studio's recycled plastic source material. Colour gradations will vary from smooth to variegated, depending on the past life of the plastic.
