About the Item

Large Art Deco bowl by Pierre d'Avesn - Emerald green. A rare and sculptural piece of Art Deco design, this large pressed-molded glass bowl is distinguished by its emerald green hue and elegant geometry. Pierre d'Avesn (1901-1990), whose real name was Pierre Girre, trained at the École des Arts Décoratifs in Paris and collaborated with prestigious houses such as Lalique and Daum. He established a personal style that blended architectural rigor and the poetry of the material. This piece is chip- and crack-free - a superb testament to the glassmaking expertise of the 1930s.
