Large French Midcentury Ceramic Mixed Earths Bowl or Centerpiece, Signed

About the Item

This stunning ceramic or mixed earths piece was made by combining clay slips of light and dark brown, gray-blue, and cream colors. The tight multicolored patterns were formed by wedging the colored clays together, cutting and rolling them like pastry, before molding the clay. Traditionally made in the city of Apt, France, signed. The impressive size is 42.50 centimeters diameter x 12.50 cm high. This wonderfully hand-crafted decorative bowl would look wonderful on any table or large countertop. Excellent condition. There are one or two tiny glaze imperfections, original to firing, no chips nor cracks.
