Large Italian Florentine Giltwood Serving Tray. Tray features a beautifully scalloped edge and a richly painted surface in green and gold. The tray displays an ornate raised foliate and scroll motif, highlighted with gold leaf for a luminous, time-aged patina. These trays were crafted in the Florence, Italy region, where artisans revived the Renaissance gilding traditions that made the city famous. The process involved layering gesso, paint, and gold leaf over carved wood, then distressing it slightly to achieve an antique finish. Each tray is slightly unique. In today's interiors, this tray is perfect as a serving tray, vanity display, or wall hanging, bringing a touch of Italian glamour and old-world charm to any room.
