Loring Andrews Repoussé Sterling Silver Footed Centerpiece Bowl Castle Pattern
About the Item
This large ornate early 20th century sterling silver centerpiece bowl has been made in the Castle pattern and is marked for The Loring Andrews Company of Cincinnati. The footed bowl features highly detailed all-over repoussé decoration which includes four turreted castles set among trees and shrubs along with two large exotic birds perched amongst scrolling leaves along with multiple flowers. The underside of the shaped rim and domed pedestal foot are both encircled with thick raised bands of floral and foliate ornamentation. The interior has a large circular cartouche at the center which has not been monogrammed. The piece is fully hallmarked and quite substantial, weighing in at 1140 grams.
This large centerpiece bowl is ideal for use on a dining table or center hall table. Lovely on its own, or could be used as a serving piece or to showcase a floral arrangement. An exquisite and beautifully made decorative object.
