Marbled Glass Scallop Bowl with Gold Accent
About the Item
This decorative marbled glass scallop bowl combines modern design with timeless elegance. It is handcrafted from high-quality glass and has a delicate gold rim. The glass has a marbled texture made from two different types of glass, each with varying degrees of opacity. The glass's natural opacity gives the bowl a distinct character through the surface on which it is placed.
Each bowl is crafted individually, requiring three firings to achieve the desired shape and finish. It is designed and painstakingly made by hand by artisans in Brooklyn, New York's historic Red Hook waterfront. This piece represents the work of an ever-shrinking craft that Flickinger Glassworks strives to keep alive and pass on to future artisans.
It makes an elegant statement, standing 5.5" tall and 18.5" in diameter.
