"Music and Wine, " Lidded Bronze Bowl w/ Greek & Renaissance Motifs, E F Caldwell
By Edward F. Caldwell & Co.
Located in Philadelphia, PA
Made by Edward F. Caldwell & Company of New York, America's most distinguished and lauded maker of fine lighting fixtures and metal decorative pieces in the early 20th century, this lidded bowl of cast and repoussé bronze depicts a series of winemaking scenes on the lid and a frieze of Renaissance angels playing lute and pipes on the bowl below. This piece is rare, and rarer still is the fineness of casting and enameling seen here. The Caldwell company was founded by E. F. Caldwell with Victor von Lossberg in 1895, and before long the company was collaborating with the likes of Stanford White and other prominent architects, supplying lighting and architectural details for a veritable "who's who" of prestigious building projects. Among them: the University Club, Andrew Carnegie...

Everest Vessel by Chaaban
By CHAABAN
Located in Dubai, DU
Cast from solid bronze, the Everest Vessel / Bowl is a functional and sculptural work with Wood Grain Detail and Golden Patina. Inspired by silhouettes found in nature, CHAABAN sought to create a line of unique bronzewares and premium home furnishings. Our collection has been hand-crafted with a specific focus on capturing the details seen in branches, trunks, and barks. Natural edges, grains, splits, and cracks are interpreted and preserved using traditional bronze casting methods, successfully blending art and function with the permanence of bronze. Introduced to the world of design in 2016, Brian Chaaban has spent the past few years curating a collection of premium bronzewares. Pulling inspiration from the natural beauty surrounding his hometown of Los Angeles, his self-titled collection “CHAABAN” focuses on forms, shapes, and details found in nature. “I have always been drawn to the outdoors– whether it be through hiking trails or swimming in the ocean, there is such an indescribably tranquil energy about our natural world.” – Brian Capturing and preserving this natural energy has been the ethos behind each piece in our bronze line, most of which begin from a hand-carved block of wood. Upon perfecting the original model, the piece finds its following form when cast in solid bronze, using a nearly 6000-year-old method known as lost wax casting. Once cast, we hand-patinate each piece until it is then ready to be released into the world for adornment. Artistic inspiration for the collection is drawn from the raw and brutalist styles of Paul Evans and Harry Balmer as well as the modernism sculptures...
