Paula Murray (b.1958) - Glazed studio pottery sculptural bowl - wheel thrown porcelain with manipulated body - signed and dated on the base - Canada - circa 1997.
Excellent condition - glaze crackle - no loss - no damage - no restoration - body & glaze imperfections as intended by the artist consistent with studio pottery and hand made items.
Size - 4 1/4" Diameter x 2 3/8" High.
About Paula Murray - Born in Ottawa in 1958 - Murray's refined porcelain objects carry enormous beauty, power and meaning. Regarded as one of Canada finest ceramic artists, this Quebec resident has received many honors and awards. Murray's pieces can be found in museums, collections and galleries worldwide and have been given to dignitaries such as U.S. President George W. Bush and U.N. Secretary Kofi Annan by the Canadian government.
