Rare Murano Glass Bowl by Giulio Radi for A.V.e.M. - Stunning!

About the Item

Rare Murano Glass Bow by Giulio Radi for A.V.e.M. - Stunning! This stunning and rarely seen Murano glass bowl, ashtray, or trinket dish is attributed to Giulio Radi, who was one of AVeM's most distinguished artists. Mr. Radi died in 1952. The Radi item listed here is a substantial piece, weighing about 4 pounds. The glass is quite dense; the top edge measures about one inch thick, and the bulk of the item appears even thicker. This and blown Murano bowl boasts a significant amount of silver fleck throughout, adding visual texture to the amethyst, green, and clear areas. There is enough silver flecking that, especially at the inner bottom areas, the clear areas of the glass appear like a shimmering white. All of this is held within a rich encasement of clear glass, though the clear is not very noticable as it takes on the inner colors of the bowl. Indeed, the outer layer rim edges (as well as the exterior overall) are clear with silver aventurine, even though they may appear green in the photos. NOTES: - The amethyst colored wick-shaped mark encased beneath the inner bottom is not a flaw or damage; it is a little splash of one of the bowl's colors. - Although the bowl's colors appear to morph from one photo to the next, this is largely a result of lighting and place in the environment. The colors that fill most of the clear glass of the bowl are: very dark to lighter amethyst, a medium green, and a bright silver. However howwe see color may be different than how you see it. - Regarding this item's condition: The comparatively low price for this piece (there is one elsewhere listed for $600) is due to adjustment for imperfect condition. For example: The base of the bowl has been dulled and scratched, probably by use and handling on surfaces over the years. There are two, possibly three scrapes or chips, found by feel though if you look really hard you can see them. They are hard to find by sight as the bowl's pattern seems to camoflauge them. Measurements are approximate. Please be aware that the color on your monitor and/or in your environment may look slightly different than in ours, so color is not guaranteed to be exact. Please also keep in mind that vintage glass usually will show some indication of previous ownership, such as scuffing, scratching, or wear on base. Buyers of vintage glass are presumed to understand and accept such hints of previous ownership. And in the case of this piece, there are at least a few areas of damage (the chips/scrapes mentioned above, for example). Feel free to send questions if you have any and we will be pleased to respond.
