Small Leaf Bowl by Tyra Lundgren for Venini 1950s Small bowl made of green glass with regular air bubble decoration and a pinched rim. Designed by Tyra Lundgren in the 1930s, manufactured by Venini, Venice. Round acid stamp 'Venini Murano Italy' on the base. Model no. 2700. Tyra Lundgren (1897 – 1979) was a Swedish painter, ceramist, glass and textile designer. In 1936, she met the glassmaker Paolo Venini at the Triennale di Milano. He invited her to Murano and she became the first woman to design glass for Venini. Her bird, fish and snake sculptures belong to the most seeked Venini glasses. In 1938 and 1948 her designs for Venini were exhibited at the Venice Biennale. Lundgren also worked as glassware designer at Moser, Karlsbad, Riihimäki, Finnland and Kosta, Sweden.
