About the Item
This is a Fajalauza style ceramic bowl from Spain. It depicts a round bowl hand painted cobalt blue and green with a pomegranate flower and some branches in the center. Around this center, there is a garland of circles and above them, some goose flying bird designs. The border is decorated with some loops. A wire loop is attached to the back of the bowl to hang it. Fajalauza ceramics were originated in the 16th century in Granada, Spain from the mix of Arabics and Christians Art influences. Their hand painted designs are usually flowers, birds and plants, mainly the pomegranate that is the symbol of the city of Granada.
