An amazing Blue and white porcelain dish, Kraak porcelain. ⁠ ⁠ China, Ming dynasty Wanli period (1572-1620),⁠ ⁠ Decorated in the centre with a bird of prey (Eagle) and a Goat. The back decorated with many Lingzhi Fungus. The harmony of yin and yang, a Daoist concept, are shown here by balancing yin (eagle) with yang (goat). The Chinese word for eagle harmonizes with yin, the female principle. The Chinese word for goat harmonizes with yang as well as a word that means to be blessed with good fortune, while goats and sunflowers are yang elements. in elements in the upper portion balance yang elements in the lower portion In Chinese art, the lingzhi symbolizes great health and longevity, as depicted in the imperial Forbidden City and Summer Palace. It was a talisman for luck in the traditional culture of China.
