Antique Worcester Porcelain Bowl Fence Pattern English Imari Style C-1810
About the Item
This small porcelain bowl was hand-painted by Worcester during the Barr Flight Barr period, circa 1810.
It is decorated in the richly detailed Fence Pattern, an English interpretation of the Imari style.
The design features a lush garden scene filled with oversized blooming pink, yellow, and red flowers set among vibrant green foliage.
A stylized garden fence and geometric rockwork anchor the composition.
The color palette is especially exuberant, combining iron red, cobalt blue, turquoise, soft lavender, and gilt.
A band of intricate red and gold floral ornament runs just beneath the rim, bordered by cobalt and gilt lines.
The small scale of the bowl gives the decoration a jewel-like intensity.
This is a superb example of Worcester’s early 19th-century Imari-style porcelain.
