About the Item
Decorative coaster/plate in isolit (plastic) and silver by Wilhelmina Wendt -1945.
Good vintage condition, wear and patina consistent with age and use.
Signed with makers mark.
Wilhelmina "Tiddit" Wendt (1896-1988) was a Swedish silversmith and the first woman in Sweden to be granted the title of "master silversmith". From the late 1920s, she designed trays, serving dishes and jewellery. In 1940s she settled in Perstorp - Sweden, where she combined material "isolit" (plastic) with her own silver designs, producing objects in what she called "silverisolit".
