English tole tea tray, c. 1800-20

Tole tea tray with black lacquered ground with decoration centering on a rectangular reserve with two classically draped women in a pastoral landscape. The shallow rolled rim is embellished with stenciled border of leaves and flowers framed by flanking red striping lines. The rim has two flanking pierced handle grips. England, early 19th century.
