About the Item

A lovely kiln-formed and wheel cut mosaic glass bowl from Klaus Moje's first days in Canberra. Cf.: Dan Klein, "Artists in Glass - Late twentieth Century Masters in Glass", Beazley, London, 2001: Like many of the best contemporary glass artists Moje has expanded his chosen technique farther than could ever have been imagined, .... Despite his European roots one now thinks of Moje as an Australian artist, who more than anyone else has set the high standards of contemporary Australian glass. The bowl is made from a kiln-formed mosaic of cut glass canes. After cooling, it has been refined by Moje with skillful cutting, satinating and polishing. The bowl is of a good medium size compared to the artists Œuvre and could be displayed, or even used like a vide-poche or ring tray. The item is signed, dated und numbered.
