About the Item
Large handcrafted ceramic centerpiece dating back to the 1970s.
Of certain Italian production but of unknown manufacture, this large plate shows a signature engraved on the base consisting of two intertwined letters "FS" that we have not been able to attribute to a ceramist or a manufacturer. the design of this centerpiece is essential, with an almost primitive shape that appears as a large bowl with low edges.
The surface is rough and textured on the outside and very smooth with a crackle effect on the inside recalling Japanese Raku ceramics.
The sinuous edges of this vintage centerpiece are decorated with splendid drips of glossy glazes layered in a lava effect. The colors used range from green to sea blue, many variations from a cold chromatic range that slide and invade the rough gunmetal gray ceramic base.
The item is in good vintage condition, with no obvious defects or imperfections.
