About the Item

Large stoneware vide-poche or centerpiece, 12.2" diameter. Quite rare in this dimension. It comes in blue tones from light to royal blue with a thick glaze. P roduced by Palshus (Denmark) in the 1960s, founded by Per and his wife Annelise Linnemann-Schmidt. The couple created and produced chamotte (danish clay) objects, often with impressed decorations (tableware, vases, and lamps). Colors were characteristic Scandinavian earthy tones: blues, browns, greens and beige. Many other talented ceramic artists also worked for Palshus including Jens H. Quistgaard and Esben Klint. The plate is signed under the base : Palshus and APLS for Annelise Per Linnemann-Schmidt, model e110. Very nice state, light scratches to the glaze on the inside of the bowl.
