A lovely matte enamel vide-poche by Käthe Ruckenbrod, circa 1965

About the Item

A lovely matte enamel vide-poche by Käthe Ruckenbrod, from circa 1965. Käthe Ruckenbrod was born 1905 in Pforzheim. She studied at the decorative-arts school of her home town and established her own workshop as a goldsmith and enamel maker in Ziegelhausen near Heidelberg, which existed until 1980. The artists lived until 1989. She was one of the pioneers for bridge enameling and matte enamel in Germany. Next to running courses and teaching techniques she crafted wonderful items, which are rare and hard to find nowadays. This plate comes with a lovely abstract autumn style decoration of stylized trees and leaves. The piece is signed on the reverse.
