About the Item

A sculptural mid-century glass bowl attributed to Paul Kedelv for Flygfors, Sweden, likely produced in the 1960s. Characterised by a sweeping, organic silhouette, the form evokes both movement and balance—its curved profile rising asymmetrically from a compact, rounded base. The bowl is executed in a deep plum-toned glass, enclosed within a thick casing of clear crystal using the sommerso technique. The effect is one of suspended colour—rich, fluid, and dimensional. The central reservoir of purple pools into the form, framed by the clear edge like a frozen wave or folded ribbon. Measuring approximately 16 cm wide, 12 cm deep, and 12 cm high, the bowl remains in very good vintage condition with only light signs of age and use. Functional as a vide-poche or centerpiece, and equally compelling displayed as a sculptural object. A fine example of Swedish modernist glass, merging decorative utility with expressive form.
