About the Item
This sculptural modernist gilded dish was realized in the United States circa 1980. It features an amorphic and asymmetrical circular form with raised sides and a dramatic stylized swordfish motif. The sail fish is represented with its fin extended and its mouth agape, apparently about to exit the water in a majestic leap. This piece is full of dynamism, verve and compelling narrative possibilities. It is sure to delight discerning collectors of idiosyncratic modernist objects, fishing and maritime enthusiasts, and everyone with a penchant for the beautiful and unusual. it would be a winning addition to any style of interior from classic Mid Century Modern to contemporary.
