Modernist Sculptural Gilded Dish with Swordfish Motif in Relief

About the Item

This sculptural modernist gilded dish was realized in the United States circa 1980. It features an amorphic and asymmetrical circular form with raised sides and a dramatic stylized swordfish motif. The sail fish is represented with its fin extended and its mouth agape, apparently about to exit the water in a majestic leap. This piece is full of dynamism, verve and compelling narrative possibilities.
