Set of Eight 18th Century English Creamware Plates, Pierced Border, C. 1785

About the Item

This elegant set of eight English creamware plates dates to circa 1785. Each plate is crafted with a delicately pierced border featuring hearts, dots, and diamonds arranged in eight evenly spaced groups, giving a light, lace-like quality to the rim. The gently scalloped edges are decorated with molded scrolls and foliate accents, enhancing their refined silhouette. The uniformity of the piercing and the matched decorative elements suggest these pieces were part of an original service. The smooth, warm cream-toned glaze and the finely balanced design reflect the sophistication and craftsmanship typical of the best late 18th-century English creamware.
