Table Box mechanical musical movement and miniature fired enamel Salimbeni
About the Item
Large rectangular table box with concave corners, with mechanical musical movement with 3 different motifs by the Swiss company Reuge S.A. in 925/1000 sterling silver gold plated with translucent enamelled sides on guilloché and border in modern contemporary English style. On the lid a very fine enameled miniature reproducing the “Entrance to the Grand Canal with the Church of the Salute” taken from a painting by Giovanni Antonio Canal known as “Il Canaletto”, hand painted by the painter Beatrice Mellana. Measurements cm. 9.5 x 18.5 height cm. 7.8. Silver weight gr. 1081-. Designed by Franco Salimbeni in 1973 and produced in Florence at the headquarters of the Salimbeni company with manual workmanship by skilled artisan artists with a thick sheet and large reinforcements suitable for supporting numerous enameling firings at high temperature at around 800° C.
