About the Item

Superb rare Neo-Empire style piece: a stack of tantalus-designed leather books with hidden shot glasses and decanters. Made in France. This magnificent tantalus dates from the early 1900s; the stack of books looks astonishingly natural and real. Like the stack of leather books, the beautifully handcrafted antique gilt glasses and decanters are still in good vintage condition and ready to be used and enjoyed. This new antique talking piece makes a perfect gift, but also an ideal decorative item for your study, private library, or home office. In addition to its rare and striking design and practical use, this antique tantalus exhibits an exceptional patina of use. No cracks on the glasses or decanters. The gilt edges are slightly discolored in places, which does not detract from the beauty of these pieces. . Dimensions: Length: 22 cm Height: 13 cm Depth: 14 cm Weight: approximately 3 kg
