About

Very nice vintage Pavesi biscuits screen printed tin box in light blue produced in the 1950s by Soc. Big. Lavorazione Latta Ge-Sampierdarena in Genoa, Italy. The lid is decorated with a group of masked people including famed characters suck Harlequin and Pulcinella. All four sides of the box are decorated with multi colored carnival streamers. The back of lid from the inside is marked: "Pavesi, biscottini di Novara, fine assortimento biscotti" or (Pavesi, little biscuits from Novara, fine biscuits assortment). Collector's note: Pavesi S.p.A. is an Italian company specialized in the production of crackers, biscuits for breakfast and snacks. The company was founded in 1937 in Novara by Mario Pavesi, a pastry chef, initially producing biscuits and, mainly the traditional "Biscottini di Novara", called with the famous name of Pavesini.
