A Fabulous and Unusual 19th Century French Dore Bronze Mounted White Opaline Egg Form Covered Nesting Box. The intricate craftsmanship of this piece is a harmonious blend of white opaline glass, adorned with resplendent ormolu mounts. Its form mimics a delicate egg, expertly fashioned in two parts, featuring a splendid doré bronze opening.
Resting upon a naturalistic doré bronze base reminiscent of a bird's nest, this masterpiece stands gracefully on a foundation of twisted doré bronze branches that serve as legs. Enhancing its allure, a doré bronze trestle formed by two prominent straight doré branches is elegantly bound together by a doré bronze rope. An exquisite double ball pendant dangles from the apex where the straight branches converge.
The trestle exquisitely showcases doré winding leaves and flowers, meticulously arranged along a sinuous vine that wraps around them.
