19th Century English String Box

About the Item

19th century English string box made from lignum vitae. the wood has been expertly turned and is ridged to look like a bee hive. There are allover accents of ivory strips and button, all finished with brass. The box unscrews at the base to reveal a spool on which string is wound to be able to use in a kitchen of office. A very useful thing indeed!
