About the Item

Elegant lidded ceramic bowl designed by Anna-Lisa Thomson for Upsala-Ekeby, Sweden, circa 1930s. The piece features a softly rounded bowl in a mottled matte glaze of pale green and beige tones, crowned with a striking glossy red figurine of a seated woman integrated into the lid. The contrasting surfaces — the earthy, textured base and the smooth, vibrant sculpture — exemplify Thomson’s refined sense of form and material. Underside marked Ekeby and model number. Excellent vintage condition with natural age-related crazing to the glaze.
