A magnificent, fine and impressive pair of antique English sterling silver fox boxes; part of our continental ornamental silverware collection. These magnificent antique English cast sterling silver boxes have been realistically modelled in form of a pair of crouching foxes. Each piece is ornamented with details reproducing the fox's fur and anatomical features. These silver foxes bear a flush hinged hallmarked cover to the back; the flush hinge indicates the high quality of these pieces. The interior of each piece bears the original gilding. Each fox bears the retailer's mark 'Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Company, 112 Regent Street, W' to the underside. These magnificent boxes are the finest of their type you could hope to acquire. Condition These silver foxes are an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. Full British hallmarks to the surface of the each fox's hind and part hallmarks to the interior of the cover are very clear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the exceptional gauge of silver. Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this English silverware.
