The rectangular hinged lid opening to reveal an original sectional interior complete with twin dome shaped finial covers, the outer body with lavish polished brass applied decorative mounts Condition: Good condition, original good surface patination. Coromandel ebony wood is variegated, streaky brown and black, nearly always wide striped. It is considered a highly valuable wood for turnery, fine cabinet work and joinery.
