Art Deco Silver Plate and Macassar Wood Box
About the Item
This is an elegant Art Deco silver plate and wood-lidded box hand-crafted in France in the 1930s. The rectangular shape boasts a refined composition with a Macassar wood body ornate with a silver plated metal handle and a large decorative embossed plaque on the lid. The silver plate decorative ornament features a typical stylized floral Art Deco design and has a "DAC" monogram engraved in the decor. The artist to whom the DAC monogram belongs has not been identified.
The box is in excellent condition, with only minor wear consistent with age and use.
Measurements: 8.88 in wide (22.5 cm) x 5.13 in deep (13 cm) x 2.38 in high (6 cm).
