Arnaldo Pomodoro is one of the leading Italian sculptors of the 20th century, known for his innovative and symbolic approach to sculpture. His works are characterized by the use of strict geometric shapes, such as spheres, cubes and pyramids, which are often treated in such a way as to hide more complex elements within them, such as cracks and carvings. This duality between outside and inside, between the smooth surface and the "hollowed out" heart of the sculpture, is one of the distinguishing features of his art, which invites the viewer to reflect on the dimensions of time, the invisible, and transformation.Pomodoro had a close relationship with architecture and design, working closely with other designers and artists, including those who worked in the world of industrial design. One example of this collaboration is its connection with **Scarpa**, a designer who, like Pomodoro, has explored the interaction between art and everyday objects. In the context of design, Pomodoro not only created monumental sculptures, but also conceived objects such as boxes, tables, and other furnishings, combining his artistic vision with functional design. His work with **Edizioni Ars D Milano**, which produced limited-edition design objects, is a clear example of how Pomodoro explored this fusion of sculptural art and utilitarian objects, creating unique and refined pieces that fit into the contemporary design scene. These collaborations demonstrate his versatility and interest in taking sculpture outside traditional boundaries, transforming it into furniture and objects for everyday use, but always maintaining a strong symbolic and artistic component. His ability to interact with designers and architects allowed him to create works that not only enriched public spaces but also private environments, creating a dialogue between sculpture, design and architecture.

Arnoldo Pomodoro Bronze Two Part Sculptural Italian Box Vintage
By Arnaldo Pomodoro
Located in North Miami, FL
This sculptural hallmarked fantastic signed Italian vintage bronze 2-part box is by Arnaldo Pomodoro. It has abstract raised forms on top giving both an organic and artistic textural elements. There were 4 different boxes ever done. Pomodoro is a very noted sculptor. The Pomodoro brothers were jewelers before they were sculptors as finely eminent in their work. This is a heavy box of art, sculpture and beauty. It is rectangular and is signed Pomodoro Il Sestante. This is beyond fabulous. It is our favorite special box in our collection. We have had it polished. A piece de resistance no doubt. These boxes are hard to come by now and are very collected. It is from the 1970s. This makes a very special desk accessory bronze...
