Chinoiserie Papier Mache Box, circa 1920

About the Item

Antique Chinoiserie Papier Mache Box, circa 1920, a rectangular jewelry or work box with hinged pagoda lid, decorated with an embossed phoenix and cherry blossom design, revealing a fitted interior with lift-out compartment-ed tray. The box remains in very good condition, with only the expected nicks to the lacquered decoration along the edges. So many of these boxes have lost their keys over the years, thankfully this box comes with it's original key. A nice elegant piece. Measures: 5" H x 14" L x 9.75" W.
