Diminutive Regency Mahogany and Brass Cellarette, Attributed to Gillows & Co. England, circa 1820 A rare and unusual diminutive Regency mahogany and brass cellarette, attributed to the esteemed cabinetmakers of Gillows & Co., England, circa 1820. This exceptional piece exemplifies superb craftsmanship and elegant design. Standing at 17.5 inches high and 12.5 inches square, it is a rare "personal cellarette" designed to hold four wine bottles. The interior measures 11 inches wide x 10.75 inches deep x 11.5 inches high, with a removable four-section caddy measuring 10"w x 9"d x"3"h; each section is 4" square.  The cellarette features an elongated square sarcophagus with an octagonal domed top. The brass-hinged lid opens to reveal a removable, four-sectioned wine bottle caddy. Made from the finest-figured mahogany, it boasts applied trellis moldings that enhance its visual appeal. The piece is fitted with two flanking brass lion handles and is raised on four intricately carved paw feet, underscoring its regency elegance. This cellarette is ready to be placed and used, offering a perfect blend of functionality and history.
