About the Item

Elegant Baroque casket crafted in oak, richly veneered with hand-cut walnut and finished with ebonised mouldings. The lid features pronounced Baroque-style panels with delicate bone inlays and refined ebonised edging. The front is decorated with intricate marquetry, including a central star motif in bone and ebonised wood, framed by small bone squares. Retains its original lock and silver-plated iron fittings on the inside. Carefully repolished to highlight its warm patina. Denmark, 1700–1730
