English Carte Du Visite / Business Card Case of Mother of Pearl and Abalone

About the Item

Carte du Visite (business card) case of Mother of Pearl laid in diagonal squares with a floral engraving centering on an abalone square and banded in abalone with ivory inner lip. The interior consists of a gilt edge cobalt blue accordion file on blue watered silk. Silver hinges and clasp. England, mid 1800’s.
