English Georgian Inlaid Liquor Box with Six Original Bottles and Two Glasses
About the Item
English Georgian domed top liquor box in mahogany with shell inlay to top and front and patterned stringing in boxwood and ebony to three sides and framing the shell inlays. The interior of the box has its original velvet lining and six original blown and stoppered liquor bottles with remnants of the gold decoration to the bottles--four of the bottles have most of the gold still in tact (must have been the unpopular liquors inside) and the two others are worn. The two glasses are 19th century replacements. There are hand written labels on the edge of the interior: Cognac, Claret, Brandy, Benedictine and two other illegible labels, circa 1790.
