About the Item
A very fine quality Rosewood & inlaid brass Campaign writing desk box, circa 1830.
The box made from the finest figured rosewood and inlaid with brass in a foliate design, the writing box with campaign recessed handles on each side, the box has the original functioning lock and a key. The box opens to reveal a writing slope inlaid with a beautiful tooled and gilded Moroccan leather writing surface, the slope is hinged and both sides open to a storage reservoir. The writing box also has a fitted interior with a pen tray and storage to the underside and the original glass inkwell and several other storage areas.
The writing box is of the most sumptuous quality and the condition is just incredible, if you are looking to buy a writing box of the very highest quality and in the very best condition this is the one!
