T.G. Hawkes & Co. was founded in 1880 by Thomas Gibbons Hawkes in Tiffin Ohio. This exquisite cut crystal and sterling silver box by Hawkes features a beautifully detailed ornithological motif, exemplifying the high-quality craftsmanship for which Hawkes was renowned. The finely cut crystal body captures and reflects light brilliantly, showcasing intricate patterns that complement the sterling silver mounts. The lid and each side is adorned with a delicate, engraved bird motif, adding a touch of elegance and nature-inspired charm. The base also has a starburst cut motif to the underside and marked to the hinge "Hawkes, Sterling". This box is an ideal piece for collectors of fine crystal or nature-themed decorative items.
