About the Item

A millefiori murrine vase by the Toso brothers, made on the island of Murano around 1910. The lovely colored and decorated Murrine were cut from glass canes, arranged on a plate, fused and then attached to the glass pipe for a little roll up. The base has a central pontil. Although made with skillful craftsmanship and in this case in a particularly nice design and execution, especially with the floral murrine, these vessels were a best seller on the island of Murano for decades and made in large numbers, so that they are still very affordable today, more than 100 years later.
