About the Item
A French 19th century travelling classic case box for the personal items of the aristocracy ensuring that toiletries and other beauty essentials stay organized and secure.
A stunning Louis XVI styled vanity box with skillful exterior marquetry work and an encrusted Sevres painted porcelain medal with a floral motif, working lock and key.
The box retains its original gilt bronze and brass decorative hardware with a well crafted interior, large mirror, two small chest drawers and ample space.
Despite its age, the box retains an impressive vintage condition overall, ready to be used. The mirror has some signs of age maintaining a very special patine well known from ancient mirrors that give any space that old time feeling.
The wood consistent with age and use has light scratches and minor cosmetic wear, as in images.
This box reflected the French nobility's taste for travelling solutions while maintaining its classic Versailles inspired style.
