Storyteller: Jean-Luc paced his apartment anxiously as the sun fell over the buildings of Paris. His breath came in short, choking gasps as he practiced what he would say to his Marie. It was the night he was going to pop the question. Months had passed during which Jean-Luc looked for the ideal engagement ring. He had searched all the city's antique and jewelry shops, but nothing had entirely satisfied him. Then he found a little, round, gilded, painted white and blue Opaline glass box with a lovely floral pattern all around it embellished with blue outlines, and he knew he had to have it. It was immediately obvious to him that this was the ideal receptacle for the ring. The box was a work of art, created in France between 1850 and 1900, and it left Jean-Luc speechless. The more he held it, the more he realized how much Marie would enjoy it. Nervously, he made his way to Marie's apartment after carefully repacking the ring in its box. He knew the time had come when he came and she smiled at him. Jean-Luc gave Marie the opaline glass container as they chatted on her balcony. As she spotted the beautiful ring inside, she let out a shriek of excitement. Jean-Luc broke down in front of her as he expressed his undying devotion and expressed his desire to spend the rest of his life with her, bringing tears to her eyes.
